The Wisdom of Rigpa, composed by Patrul Rinpoche in direct line from the cycle of the Longchen Nyingthik revealed by Jigme Lingpa, addresses the preliminary practices or ngöndro, the indispensable foundation for those wanting to embark on the path of Dzogchen. Because of their importance and depth, many great practitioners belonging to all the schools of Tibetan Buddhism continue training in the outer and inner practices of the ngöndro throughout their lifetime.

Dzogchen Ranyak Patrul Rinpoche was born in the valley of Dzogchen, eastern Tibet, in 1963. He is the incarnation of Dza Patrul Rinpoche, the great spiritual master of the 19th century, author of The Words of my Perfect Teacher. 

Since his arrival in the West, he has been teaching extensively and setting up numerous Dharma centres to benefit a growing number of students.
